Small change can make big change.
There are two ways to help with our Puppy Banks project – both are simple!
Individuals: Come in to our office for a Puppy Bank – a small moneybox. Take it home, or to work, put your loose change into it, and when it’s full: Give us a call and we’ll arrange a pick-up; or Drop it off at our office at 164 Elizabeth Street Hobart; or Drop it off at our office 83 Elphin Road Launceston. We’ll count the change and send you a receipt. Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible. Simple.
Organisations: Are you part of a community group, business, school or organisation that would like a visit from Royal Guide Dogs Tasmania ….. and a dog?
A confident, articulate, highly engaging staff member from Royal Guide Dogs Tasmania will come to your organisation and present an informative and entertaining talk about the services we provide to blind and vision impaired Tasmanians. At the end of the presentation, audience members are allowed to pat and cuddle the dog. Puppy Banks (small money boxes) are distributed to all audience members to take home, fill with loose change, and then bring back to the group at an agreed time (usually 4-6 weeks). This is called the “Puppy Bank Muster”. We provide reminder posters and can even provide letters of explanation for young children to take home. When we have collected the Puppy Banks from you, we count the change and send you a certificate of thanks showing that amount. It’s a very simple yet engaging activity for staff, students or members and it demonstrates very clearly how a little can be part of a lot and how we can help, 5 cents at a time.
