Royal Guide Dogs Tasmania Instructors work with many people across Tasmania. In their homes, at their work place, in their communities - staff assist clients with life skills, orientation and mobility. Instructors also regularly follow up with clients for as long as their assistance is required.
Sometimes, the client follows up with the Instructor:
After receiving an electronic magnifier with the help of her RGDT Instructor, Molly rang with a very serious complaint: “You’ll have to come and take it away,” Molly said, “because it is costing me too much money!”
After asking why, the Instructor was very amused to discover the reason for this was that Molly was now able to read the fine print of the Form Guide in the local paper, and she had lost a couple of dollars on some races!
Two days later, Molly rang again: “I’ve changed my mind. You can’t have the magnifier back. I put $5.00 each way on a horse and it won. It’s not so bad after all!”
We aim to please!
