Stella has graduated, and becomes the latest in a long line of pups to complete our Guide Dog Training Program.

Early this year, Stella commenced the final stage of her training, and proudly wore the Guide Dog harness for the first time. After a little work, she finally overcame her nose for smells and her desire to stop and play with other dogs. There was a definite adjustment period for her as she grew from a cute, playful puppy into a real working dog, as she gets a lot less attention.

It seems only yesterday that she was photographed in the shower, patiently waiting to be shampooed in the warm water. Now she is a Guide Dog, working with her new handler in the Hobart area. The client is very happy with Stella and they have quickly formed a strong bond and are working well together.
Without the continued support of the Tasmanian community, Stella would not be out and about working through daily activities with her handler.
Well done, Stella! We are very proud of you.
